Donations of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) During COVID-19
On March 18, 2020, the province of British Columbia went into a state of public health emergency due to the Coronavirus. Three days later, the B.C, Ministry of of Health ordered all personal service businesses to shut down immediately. A week after the shut down, XO OPTIX started a fundraising campaign amongst its dear customers and friends, and dedicated a tremendous amount of time and effort into sourcing quality personal protective equipment such as eye goggles, gowns, face shields, surgical masks, hand sanitizers, and surface disinfectants for healthcare workers.
Prioritizing frontline healthcare workers and marginalized organizations that have a difficult time accessing PPE, XO OPTIX and its customers & friends reached out to them via email, phone calls, and word of mouth.
As XO OPTIX is also a healthcare facility, we understand that sense of responsibility and care that we uphold in our work everyday when taking care of our patients and customers.
Putting these protective equipment in the hands of so many nurses, doctors, healthcare staff is amazing. We are extremely thankful for those who’ve donated to our cause and helped spread the word.
Healthcare workers who are in essential services are putting their lives at risk, leaving their families behind in order to save lives.
